Results of the Field Surveys

After the training of trainers held on 8 and 9 September in Garoua, six trainers visited the field to interview 90 groups in the North, the Far North and Adamawa regions.

They collected information on the description of groups, their activities and their geographical location.

The selection committee, consisting of three team members, have combed through the 90 groups surveyed to retain 10 groups per region or 30 in total.

These 30 selected groups will be trained and supported throughout the project "Entrepreneurial capacity building for rural women and the preparation of young girls in rural Areas to be future entrepreneurs." Their leaders will be trained in creation and management of income-generating activities in the coming days.

The surveys were also used to select nine schools eligible for the distribution of school supplies for girls. The presentation of these kits will take place during the girls education awareness campaign, scheduled for the end of October.

Après la formation des formateurs tenue les 8 et 9 septembre derniers à Garoua, 6 formateurs sont descendus sur le terrain pour enquêter 90 groupes des régions du Nord, Extrême-Nord et Adamaoua.

Ils ont recueilli des informations relatives à la description des groupes, de leurs activités et à leur situation géographique.

 Le comité de sélection composé de 3 personnes a passé au peigne fin les 90 groupes enquêtés pour retenir 10 groupes par région soit 30 au total.

C’est donc ces 30 groupes retenus qui vont être formés et accompagnés tout au long du projet « Entrepreneurial capacity building for rural women and the preparation of young girls in rural areas to be future entrepreneurs ». Leurs responsables vont déjà suivre une formation en création et gestion des Activités Génératrices de Revenus dans les prochains jours.

Les enquêtes ont aussi permis de sélectionner 9 écoles pouvant bénéficier de la distribution du matériel scolaire pour jeunes filles. La remise de ces kits scolaires aura lieu lors de la sensibilisation sur la scolarisation de la jeune fille, prévue à la fin du mois d’Octobre.
