Project Launched in Garoua

On September 8^th, 2012, the 2012 AEIF competition winners in Cameroon launched their project with a training of trainers for all of the team members. The two-day workshop was held in the Roumde Adija neighborhood of Garoua, Cameroon in the offices of Association FEPES. Presenters were Daniel NONZE of SADEC, Simone NKOUANJIO of Association FEPES, and Melissa PERSAUD of the United States Peace Corps.

The project team is composed of eleven IVLP alumni, with six team members participating in the project implementation. Participants came from three regions, Adamaoua, North, and Extreme North to receive the training necessary for their work in the field. Topics included: cashbook, stock book, cost analysis, feasibility studies, and budgeting, as well as an overview of the project and its implementation, action plan, and working with groups.

Over the next few weeks, the team will be identifying and selecting the final 30 groups that will participate in our entrepreneurship project.  We look forward to keeping you informed.

Le projet «Entrepreneurial capacity bulding for rural women and the preparation of girls in rural areas to be future entrepreneurs » de la compétition AEIF (Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund) 2012 est enfin lancé!

Il a été effectivement lancé le 8 septembre 2012 par la formation des formateurs tenue à Garoua dans les locaux de l’Association FEPES, au quartier Roumdé-Adjia. Cette formation a été dispensée par Daniel NONZE de l’Association SADEC, Simone NKOUANJIO de l’Association FEPES et Melissa PERSAUD du Corps de la Paix.

Pendant 2 jours, les participants (des IVLP alumni) venus de l’Adamaoua, l’Extrême-Nord et le Nord ont reçu des connaissances sur les thèmes : étude de faisabilité et analyse des coûts, utilisation du cahier de caisse et de stock, élaboration du plan d’action, du budget, évaluation des activités dans un groupe et vie associative.

Les personnes formées auront à leur tour le devoir de transmettre ces connaissances aux leaders d’association dont les groupes seront retenus après les enquêtes sur le terrain. Ces enquêtes sont supposées commencer dans les prochains jours après la formation des formateurs.
